Below you will find a selection of tasks to choose from, it is advised you complete at least one task each week, consult with a caregiver to ensure you have the required materials. When you complete your chosen tasks, ensure you take a photo and keep a record of your work, this will help you build an educational portfolio.
Task 1
Soap Structure Drawing: Draw and label a soap molecule, showing the hydrophilic head and hydrophobic tail. Include arrows explaining how each part interacts with water and grease.
Task 2
Experiment: Soap and Pepper: Sprinkle pepper on water in a bowl. Add a drop of soap and observe what happens to the pepper. Write a short explanation of why this occurs.
Task 3
Create a Soap Animation: Use free animation software or drawing tools to create a short animation showing how soap molecules break apart grease in water.
Task 4
Infographic Creation: Make an infographic about the science of soap, including how it works and why it’s important for hygiene.
