How It Works
To access Empowered Edu courses, you need to purchase a membership. Each membership is designed for 1 user and is available in the following age ranges:
- Parents (Free account that provides access to blog posts only)
- 5-6 years
- 6-8 years
- 8-12 years
Before purchasing, feel free to preview the courses available by clicking the “Courses” button in the menu bar.
How to Create an Account
- Register or Log In
Using the Register or Log In button available in the menu bar, you will be redirected to choose your preferred option. - Join Now
After selecting Join Now, you will be presented with the available membership levels to choose from. Select the membership level that suits your child. - Enter Your Details
Once you’ve selected your membership, you will be prompted to enter the following information:- Username
- Email Address – Please provide a unique email address for the account. Each email can only be used once, so it’s recommended to use a dedicated email for your child’s account.
- Password – Create a secure password for your account.
- Checkout
After entering the required information, you will proceed to checkout to finalise your membership purchase. - Add Your Child’s Name
Once your account is active, head to your account page to add your child’s first and last name. These details will appear on their completion certificates.
You can easily access your account page by navigating to the Members Corner and selecting Member Account. - Start Learning!
Once your account setup is complete, you’re all set to begin your learning journey with Empowered Edu!
Once you create your account and purchase a membership, you’ll gain access to the Members Corner, which includes all courses, however, you will only be able to access courses available at your membership level.
Achievement Standards Statement
The achievement standards statement provided for each course gives curriculum linking statements for homeschool educators to ensure their child’s learning meets recognised educational aims and standards. These links are a basic example and can be expanded on through the child’s own task choices.
By providing linking statements for learning outcomes, parents can be confident that their child’s learning addresses key areas such as history, geography, science, and technologies, as well as general capabilities like critical thinking and ethical understanding.
When preparing learning reports for homeschool moderators, referencing these outcome statements allows parents to clearly show how their child’s learning is aligned with recognised educational goals and how progress through their states curriculum is being made.
Additionally, moderators can see that the child has engaged with content that develops essential skills and knowledge in a structured manner. Furthermore, these alignments can help parents decide which courses to pursue by highlighting areas that need further development or enrichment.
How the Courses Work
Members can begin and track courses from their Profile page, which lists all of the courses available within your subscription bracket. Your profile also provides a progress bar for each course, track quiz results and records certificates for both course completion and successful quiz completion. These can be downloaded directly from the profile page and printed.
Once a course is selected, you will start with the first lesson. Our courses are designed to be flexible, allowing members to skip sections they may have already covered in another course or with other resources.
Note: If you skip a section, you will need to mark it as complete to ensure you are able to generate your certificate at the end of the course.
Each lesson includes:
- Video Suggestions relevant to the topic. (These videos are third party owned and free to view but optional)
- Written Information for a more traditional learning experience.
Members are free to engage with either or both elements based on their preferred learning style.
Research Question Tab
The “Research Question” tab for each topic provides four prompts for users to answer through their own research or existing knowledge. This page is interactive, allowing users to type directly into the answer boxes, which can then be printed for record-keeping. Alternatively, users can expand and print the text boxes blank to allow for handwritten responses. Note that automated grading is only available in our Maths program.
Important Notice for Users:
To keep your answers and progress secure and private, we recommend using separate browser profiles if multiple people share the same computer or device, as answers will be overwritten otherwise. Each browser profile stores information separately, ensuring your saved answers remain private and protected from other users on the same device.
If you’re unsure how to create a new browser profile, please check your browser’s settings for guidance. This will help keep your work secure and specific to you.
Tasks
After clicking “Mark Complete,” members are automatically directed to the Tasks for that week. Empowered Edu tasks are designed with flexibility in mind. Here’s an example task:
Democracy Poster: Create a poster explaining the key principles of democracy, including voting, freedom of speech, and equality. Use images and words to show how democracy works.
In line with our K.I.S.S. Method (Keep It Simple Scholars), our tasks are open-ended and adaptable, empowering members to take charge of their own learning journey. This approach encourages self-discovery, builds confidence, and helps learners identify their strengths and interests. We also don’t endorse set expectations in terms of users output, all children are different and we appreciate and support this.
Members can choose to complete as many or as few tasks as they wish, allowing them to construct a personalised learning portfolio that reflects their style.
Final Quiz and Certificates
At the end of each course, members will need to take a final quiz. These quizzes have a 70% pass mark and ask questions which related to the course content. These quizzes are not intended to be stressful or apply undue pressure, they are simply another opportunity to review and consolidate learning, therefore they can be taken an unlimited number of times. Upon successful completion of the course and the quiz, members will receive a personalised course completion certificate and a quiz certificate to add to their learning portfolio, celebrating their achievement.
Quiz Certificates: Quiz certificates will be generated when the user has achieved a score of 70%. You can download and print immediately or retrieve at a later date from your profile. To do so, find the course using the search function and expand using the blue arrow on the right. You will see a grey “certificate icon” on the quiz record that achieved a pass.
Course Certificates: To download your course completion certificate, head to your profile page and search for the course using the spyglass image which is the search function. When your course appears it will state complete and show a square certificate icon (see image below) which you can click to retrieve your certificate.

Scholar’s Blog
In the Scholar’s Blog, students will find a variety of ‘Getting Started’ posts, ideal for diving into new projects with confidence. Each blog post acts as a launch pad to help kickstart ideas and creativity, whether they’re working on reports, newspapers, comparisons, or other assignments.
This section will soon include a library of useful templates like report templates, newspaper templates, Venn diagrams, and more, offering ready-made tools to enhance and simplify their work.
Parents’ Blog
The Parents’ Blog is a companion to the Scholar’s Blog, offering additional resources tailored for guiding and assessing student work. Here, parents can find marking rubrics and optional rubric marking sheets designed to make evaluation easier. For instance, blogs such as “Marking Comparative Essays with Rubrics Across Age Groups” provide structured guidelines for assessing projects effectively. These tools are particularly useful for reporting time, helping parents support their child’s learning journey in a constructive and organised way. All rubrics and marking sheets are optional and meant as helpful guides, allowing parents flexibility based on their child’s needs.

Can I use Empowered Edu outside Australia?
Absolutely! Empowered Edu can be accessed from anywhere in the world. While our courses are designed with the Australian curriculum in mind, the flexible learning approach and a wide range of topics make it suitable for learners globally. You can adapt the resources to fit your local educational standards and learning goals, no matter where you’re located.
How much time do I need to spend on Empowered Edu each day?
Empowered Edu is completely flexible! There are no strict time requirements. You and your child can spend as much or as little time as you like each day, allowing you to tailor the experience to fit your schedule. Whether it’s a few minutes or a few hours, the platform is designed to support your child’s learning journey at their own pace.
How much adult input is required?
The level of adult input depends on your child’s needs, for instance, children may require help with reading, task supervision or assistance with completion, scribing etc.
While Empowered Edu is designed to be user-friendly and encourages independent learning, there are also plenty of opportunities for adults to guide, support, or join in when needed. Whether your child works independently or you prefer a more hands-on approach, the choice is yours.
Why don’t you tell us EXACTLY what to do with task options?
At Empowered Edu, we believe in fostering independence and creativity in learning. Instead of prescribing exact steps, we offer open-ended task options to give your child the freedom to explore topics in ways that suit their interests and learning style. This approach encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, all of which are essential skills for lifelong learning.
By not telling you exactly what to do, we create room for personalised learning, allowing each child to take charge of their educational journey. Empowered Edu is a “choose your own adventure” platform, where the focus is on developing confidence, curiosity, and the ability to adapt, rather than simply following instructions. This way, learners can discover what works best for them while still achieving key educational outcomes.
Do you provide worksheets for the courses?
At this time, we don’t produce worksheets in the usual sense, though we would like to explore this in the future. Instead we provide research questions for our courses and templates for completing tasks such as timeline templates, report templates etc. Template resources are all optional use and require printing, they can be located in the blog section or occasionally via buttons embedded in courses where relevant.
What supplies do I need?
Empowered Edu keeps it simple! Most courses only require basic supplies such as paper, pens, craft materials or everyday household items. Occasionally a task may require a specific piece of equipment, however, to maintain accessibility multiple task options are available. Therefore you don’t need to make additional purchases if you are unable to.
For tasks that require some element of graphic design, a free canva account would be a great place to start.
How will my child meet their curriculum aims and advance their skillset with Empowered Edu?
Empowered Edu is designed to align with key educational outcomes, helping your child meet their curriculum goals in a flexible and personalised way. Our platform covers a wide range of topics and subjects that support essential skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and research-based learning.

Do I receive a qualification for these courses?
While our courses do not provide formal qualifications, members will receive a completion certificate for each course. These certificates can be added to your child’s learning portfolio as a way to celebrate their progress and achievements.
Can you register my child for homeschooling?
No, Empowered Edu does not handle homeschooling registration. However, our platform offers a wealth of educational resources that can be used as part of your homeschooling plan. We encourage you to check with your local education authorities for specific homeschooling requirements.
Are you a school?
Empowered Edu is not a school. We are an educational resource platform that supports learning in a flexible and engaging way. We provide an alternative to formal schooling style models leaning more into the spirit of homeschooling, and therefore focus on self-directed learning, research, and exploration, without the rigid structures of a typical classroom setting or prescribed one-size-fits-all style curriculum.
Is Empowered Edu an online-only model of learning?
While Empowered Edu provides a range of online resources, it is not limited to just digital learning. Many of our courses include hands-on activity suggestions as well as research questions which can be answered using online research or book research. By offering a range of options we see to empower all styles of learners ensuring there is an option of everyone to enrich their educational journey. Our flexible approach allows learners to combine online lessons with real-world experiences, making it a blended learning model that supports both online and offline learning.
